About Me
I’m April, a Registered Play Therapist with the Australasian Pacific Play Therapy Association (APPTA) and a Certified Autism Specialist through IBCCES. I specialize in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), supporting children in developing essential emotional and social skills. My practice benefits all children, including those who are neurodivergent, diagnosed with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, selective mutism, or facing social and behavioral challenges.
Through CCPT, I focus on fostering four universal outcomes that contribute to a child’s growth and well-being:
- Increased Emotional Vocabulary – Helping children express their feelings and communicate their needs.
- Increased Emotional Regulation – Supporting children in managing emotions effectively, leading to fewer outbursts and improved behavior.
- Increased Worldview – Encouraging a broader perspective, helping children understand consequences and relationships.
- Increased Self-Esteem – Building confidence and self-worth for long-term resilience.
These outcomes empower children to not only cope with challenges but also thrive. I offer therapy in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, ensuring children and families can communicate in their preferred language for a more comfortable and meaningful experience.
